The onboarding wizard

The five-step setup wizard new salons see on first signup — business type, salon, services, hours, plan.

When a new salon signs up, Randvu drops them into a five-step wizard at /setup. You don't normally see this article unless you're going through it the first time — but it's also a useful reference for people who skipped a step and want to revisit.

The progress bar at the top of every screen shows which step you're on (e.g. Step 3 of 5 · 60%) and lights up each step's pill as you complete it.

The five steps

In order:

1. Business type (/setup/business-type)

A grid of business-type cards (Hair salon, Barbershop, Nail studio, Spa, etc.) — pick the one that best describes your salon. There's a search box at the top to filter by keyword if you don't see your vertical immediately.

The choice shapes some downstream defaults — service templates, terminology, recommended starter categories. Pick the closest match; you can still customise everything later.

2. Salon (/setup/salon)

Your basic salon details:

  • Name — what appears on the public page H1.
  • Address — country, city, street, postcode.
  • Contact — phone, email.
  • Slug — the URL fragment after randvu.app/s/ for your public page. The wizard suggests one based on the name; you can edit it.

This step creates the first location for your workspace. If you later add more locations, they'll show up under the Salon sidebar item.

3. Services (/setup/services)

Pick from a starter list of services based on the business type you chose in step 1, or add custom ones. Each service has a name, category, duration (in minutes), and price. You can skip this step and add services later from the Services page.

4. Hours (/setup/hours)

Per-day operating hours for the salon. The default is Mon–Fri 9–5 — adjust each day's open / close times, or toggle a day off entirely. These hours drive both:

  • The booking calendar (clients can't book outside open hours).
  • The Schedule view's day window.

5. Plan (/setup/plan)

Pick a Randvu subscription plan. The page shows every available plan side by side with monthly / yearly pricing. Most plans offer a trial — you won't be charged until the trial ends.

Finishing this step writes the subscription, redirects you to the dashboard, and the wizard never appears again.

Skipping and revisiting

The progress bar is also a navigation bar — click any earlier step to go back and edit. Forward steps are locked until you save the current one.

If you close the browser mid-wizard, your progress is saved per step — you can come back at any time and pick up where you left off.
