Color formulas and photos

Track every color visit — products, mixing, timing, and consent-gated before/after photos — so any stylist can repeat the result.

The Color tab on the client profile keeps one record per visit: the exact products, mixing ratios, timing, and photos. The rule of the system is duplicated forward, never overwritten — history stays intact, and any stylist can repeat last time's color without guessing.

A formula card

Each visit's card shows the title, technique (Root, Global, Balayage, Foils, Toner, Gloss), the product lines (color, developer, bleach, toner, additive), and the mixing block — ratio, developer volume, processing minutes, and heat. It's signed with who added it, and cards copied from an earlier visit carry a duplicated badge.

Recording a formula

  1. Start from scratch or from last time

Use New formula for a first visit. For a repeat client, hit Use as base on a past card — it opens the editor pre-filled with that visit's lines (photos aren't copied), ready to tweak.

  2. Add the product lines

Search your salon catalog or type any product freehand. Set each line's type and unit — the editor doesn't force your inventory list on you.

  3. Capture the mixing

Ratio (like 1:1.5), developer volume, processing time, heat. It's collapsible — skip it when it doesn't apply.

  4. Save, then photograph

Save the formula first, then attach before/during/after photos from the card.

Editing and history

A formula stays editable until the appointment closes. After that, it's part of the record — instead of editing history, Use as base copies it forward into a new card. Managers and owners can Archive a wrong entry; archived cards hide behind a Show archived toggle and can be restored any time. Nothing is ever hard-deleted.

Photos are gated on photo consent, recorded once per client:

  • With consent on file, each formula card offers Before / During / After photo slots, and Open gallery launches a lightbox to flip through them.
  • Without it, capture is disabled — "Photo capture disabled — no consent on file for this client." Record verbal consent right from the tab, or collect it through an intake form.
