Ring up a sale
Build a cart, apply discounts and tips, assign staff, and take card, cash, or split payment at the register.

The register is where you ring up everything that happens at the counter — a service you just finished, a bottle of shampoo, or both on one ticket. Open it from POS in the sidebar.
Pick a layout
The register has two layouts, and you can switch any time from the top of the page:
- Counter — compact, good for a phone or a small front-desk screen.
- Wide — cart and item picker side by side, good for a full monitor or tablet.
Your choice is remembered on that device.
Build the cart
Add items
Search or browse the item picker to add services and products. You can also type or scan a barcode / SKU to drop a product straight in — use a hardware scanner or your device camera.
Set quantity and discounts
Adjust quantity on any line. Apply a per-line discount as a percentage or a fixed amount.
Assign staff
Set the staff member on each line so sales and tips are credited to the right person. A ticket can have different staff on different lines.
Add a tip
Use the tip selector to add a tip. On a multi-staff ticket you can split the tip across the people who worked it.
The totals panel shows the running subtotal, any discounts, the tax line, tips, and the grand total as you go.
Attach a client (optional)
Attach a client to the sale so they get a receipt and the purchase shows in their history. If they're new, use quick-create to add a walk-in on the spot — name only, with optional email or phone if you want to send a receipt.
Take payment
Choose a payment method at checkout:
- Card — charge a paired Stripe card reader. See Take card payments with a reader.
- Cash — enter the amount tendered and the register shows the change due.
- Split — take part on card and part in cash on the same ticket.
Receipts
After payment, the receipt dialog appears. Send it by email or text, or just close it for a no-receipt sale. The completed sale is now in Transactions, where you can re-send the receipt later.
Where to go next
- Transactions, refunds, and voids — find and fix a past sale.
- Charge and complete a booking — ring up an appointment.
